on my usual platform 22 today and quite unusual was the fact that i didnt have my headphones in and i managed to catch the annoucement.

If any of you know that on a certain day and time that there will be someone on the platform with a birthday, anniversary or other special celebration please email me with the details through cityrail and have it addressed to Matt. i ASSUME this means he would announce it when the person is on the platform. if not then thats just bloody creepy. as a matter of fact, it is bloody creepy. what happened to the good old days when the announcer carried an accent so heavy that you couldnt understand it so you ended up on a fast train to Liverpool?
